Epic Lumens Analyst - IT Applications

About the role

Under the direction of Leadership, the IT Applications Analyst empowers our community through the continuous development, deployment, and support of vendor-proprietary enterprise application software. This role supports software necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. The Analyst works on analyzing existing and proposed vendor-supplied software functionality to ensure it conforms to current health system workflow processes.

The Application Analyst collaborates with business operations to understand and define system requirements, developing innovative solutions to meet customer needs. This position requires adherence to HonorHealth's project and change management methodologies and may lead low to moderate complexity projects. An on-call rotation is required to support off-hour incidents, upgrades, patches, and project tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot low to moderate complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, medical staff, key stakeholders, management, and leadership.
• Contribute to technical and workflow root cause analysis.
• Analyze business operations to inform design decisions and prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
• Perform in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with integrated applications with minimal assistance.
• Design, test, implement, and support files/systems within assigned products and scope with minimal supervision.
• Populate tables and databases for domains with multiple owners, with some assistance from vendors and IT staff.
• Collaborate in an integrated approach to eliminate potential negative impacts on customers and patients.
• Maintain standards for application system build and database maintenance, including updates to master files, profiles, dictionaries, and other databases.
• Assist with recommendations for standardized naming, numbering, and security conventions.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, effectively communicating across all levels of the organization.
• Develop effective working relationships across HonorHealth and with vendor applications support personnel.
• Prioritize and manage individual workload with minimal assistance, collaborating with team members to adjust priorities based on business needs.
• Travel to any/all HonorHealth and affiliated sites as required.
• Assist with change management, project management, and documentation policies and standards established by the IT Department and Project Management Office.
• Lead low to moderate complexity projects as assigned, utilizing IT Project Management tools for successful completion.
• Follow established change management procedures for testing, documenting, and communicating system changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with HonorHealth policies, procedures, and Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or 2 years of work-related experience.
• Degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
• 3 years of healthcare, consulting, or IT-related experience demonstrating an advanced understanding of tools, workflows, and procedures for deploying and developing application software in healthcare systems (5 years preferred).

Qualifications

• Certification for assigned application must be obtained within the designated timeframe per policy (required).
• Epic Certification, training, or certification in assigned application (preferred).
• Certification or licensure for clinical, revenue cycle, or business units supported by the primary application (preferred).
• Epic certification as applicable for the assigned team (preferred).
