Job Functions/Duties

  • Installs and maintains electrical circuitry, electronics, and hydraulic equipment
  • Inspects, tests, and troubleshoots problems with electronics, electrical devices, and hydraulic equipment to make necessary repairs
  • Installing and calibrating electronics and I/O systems
  • Conducting service checks and performing preventative maintenance to keep electronics and hydraulic equipment functioning properly
  • Communicating with rig operators and supervisors to understand problems and provide progress updates
  • Giving demonstrations on operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Inventory and ordering of parts needed to make repairs and complete maintenance in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • 3 years oilfield technical service experience; relevant industry education in industrial, engineering or related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a valid, active state-issued driver license
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and devise solutions
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Deep familiarity with circuitry and wiring
  • Experience with hydraulics
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret diagrams and schematics
  • Self-starter and ability to work with limited direct supervision
  • Previous electronics and data field technician experience in an oil field service company such as coil tubing, wireline or drilling
  • Mobile and able to use ladders or other access devices up to 15 ft.
  • Able to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to operate tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, precision screwdrivers, hand and power tools, and to distinguish between various colors of wiring
  • Ability to work a varied schedule and travel as job requires
  • Excellent customer service skills, to provide world class value to customers
  • Reliable telephone (cell phone) communication and transportation
  • Ability to clear/pass DOT drug and alcohol pre-employment testing requirements
  • Ability to clear/pass DOT compliant post-offer physical and job-relevant screens
  • Receipt of proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law
