Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and manage Epic Hyperspace, Epic-specific print services, Interconnect, and related client system components
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and security of Epic applications
  • Support Citrix, VMware, or other virtual delivery platforms used to provide Epic access
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Epic client applications, end user access, and environment stability
  • Collaborate with technical teams, application analysts, and vendors to support upgrades, patches, and new releases
  • Create and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration records
  • Manage and maintain Epic print services, including deployment and troubleshooting of printers within Epic
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Provide on-call support as needed for production issues
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and security requirements

Requirements

  • Certifications: Epic Client Systems Administrator certification
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: Supporting Epic client applications and infrastructure
  • Familiarity: With Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Experience: With Citrix, VMware, or similar virtualization technologies
  • Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills for application and system performance issues, Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and load balancing
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with healthcare IT systems and workflows, Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.), Prior experience in large enterprise environments with 24/7 clinical operations
