Job Description
The Epic Cadence Analyst I supports the design, build, testing, and maintenance of solutions within Epic Cadence and related modules such as Prelude and Welcome. This entry-level role partners with operational teams and end users to support scheduling workflows, system enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing application support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the configuration, testing, validation, and support of Epic Cadence and related applications under the guidance of senior analysts and team leadership.
- Support day-to-day maintenance activities, issue resolution, and routine system updates to ensure reliable scheduling operations.
- Participate in workflow discussions, requirements gathering, and documentation efforts with operational teams and end users.
- Perform basic system troubleshooting, ticket resolution, and escalation of complex issues as appropriate.
- Support testing activities for upgrades, enhancements, fixes, and new implementations.
- Maintain documentation related to workflows, build decisions, testing results, and support procedures.
- Develop foundational knowledge of Epic applications, healthcare operations, and organizational standards and workflows.
- Participate in team meetings, training opportunities, and knowledge-sharing activities to support professional development.
- Obtain and maintain Epic certifications as required for assigned applications and responsibilities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide occasional evening or weekend support as needed.
Qualifications
- Years of Experience Required: 0–2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in healthcare, information technology, application support, or system implementation.
- Years of Experience Preferred: 1+ years of experience supporting healthcare applications, information systems, or operational workflows within a healthcare environment.
- Education Required: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Education Preferred: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses Required: Epic Cadence, Epic Prelude Certifications/Licenses.
- Certifications/Licenses Preferred: Epic Referrals, Epic Welcome.
- Skills Required: Foundational understanding of application support, system configuration, and troubleshooting concepts; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; effective verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders; ability to learn new technologies, workflows, and healthcare operations in a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively within a team setting; strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting end users.
- Skills Preferred: Familiarity with Epic applications or healthcare information systems; basic understanding of patient access, scheduling, or healthcare operational workflows; exposure to system testing, workflow analysis, or application implementation activities; knowledge of healthcare terminology and operational best practices.
Physical & Environmental Conditions
- Work is primarily performed while sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunities to move about the department and traverse the hospital campus.
- Work is performed in a comfortable indoor area.

- OSHA Category 3: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.
