Epic Application Analyst

Penn Medicine is seeking an Epic Application Analyst (Mid, Senior) to support OpTime/Anesthesia Module.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of simple and intermediate complex issues at the technical, interface and application levels.
  • Identifies root-cause, recommends, tests, and implements changes.
  • Communicates problems, issues and potential solutions to team members, clients, and organizational administration.
  • Serves to assure full integration of systems and devices utilizing interfacing standards and vendor provided utilities.
  • Provides customer service and acts as a liaison between the operational departments and Information Services.
  • Utilizes expertise to design, build, install, modify, and test application software to support and optimize operational processes.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of configurations, customizations, and support processes.
  • Complies with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures of Penn Medicine to ensure necessary controls, documentation, and audit trails.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED and 6+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is required.
  • OR Associate's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is required.
  • OR Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is preferred.

Senior Epic Application Analyst

  • Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of simple and intermediate complex issues at the technical, interface and application levels.
  • Identifies root-cause, recommends, tests, and implements changes.
  • Provides guidance and support to team members, contribute their expertise to decision-making processes, and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Communicate their insights, recommendations, and findings to the team and stakeholders.
  • Serves to assure full integration of systems and devices utilizing interfacing standards and vendor provided utilities.
  • Provides customer service and acts as a liaison between the operational departments and Information Services.
  • Serves as application expert with an in depth understanding of application functionalities, data analysis, workflow optimization, and clinical documentation requirements.
  • Utilizes expertise to design, build, install, modify, and test application software to support and optimize operational processes.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of configurations, customizations, and support processes.
  • Complies with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures of Penn Medicine to ensure necessary controls, documentation, and audit trails.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

Certifications

  • Epic Certification, Proficiency, or Accreditation is preferred.

Education or Equivalent Experience

  • H.S. Diploma/GED and 8+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is required.
  • OR Associate's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is required.
  • OR Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience working within Healthcare Applications or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is preferred.
