Epic Application Analyst (Associate/Mid/Senior)

About the role

This position is posted at three levels based on experience: Associate EPIC Application Analyst, EPIC Application Analyst, and Senior EPIC Application Analyst. Candidates will be aligned to the appropriate level based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of simple and intermediate issues at the technical, interface and application levels.
• Identifies root-cause, recommends, tests, and implements changes.
• Collaborates with Epic technical support teams, vendors, and other IS Application teams as needed to address complex technical issues.
• Communicates problems, issues and potential solutions to team members, clients, and organizational administration.
• Understands integration between various applications and functionality within those applications.
• Serves to assure full integration of systems and devices utilizing interfacing standards and vendor provided utilities.
• Provides customer service and acts as a liaison between the operational departments and Information Services.
• Utilizes expertise to design, build, install, modify, and test application software to support and optimize operational processes.
• Clearly defines and articulates to operational stakeholder’s workflow changes that are offered with software/hardware upgrades and best practice solutions as recommended by the vendor.
• Affords assistance with defining and documenting user requirements and system scope.
• Reviews and collects information regarding potential system enhancements.
• Maintains thorough documentation of configurations, customizations, and support processes.
• Complies with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures of Penn Medicine to ensure necessary controls, documentation, and audit trails.
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate EPIC Application Analyst: H.S. Diploma/GED and 4+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Required) Or Associates degree and 3+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Preferred) Or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. Individuals with other majors may be considered with internship or other IT related experience. (Preferred)
• EPIC Application Analyst: H.S. Diploma/GED and 6+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Required) Or Associates degree and 5+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Preferred) Or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Preferred)
• Senior EPIC Application Analyst: H.S. Diploma/GED and 8+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Required) Or Associates degree and 7+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Preferred) Or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related IT experience, preferably in healthcare. (Preferred)

Skills

• EPIC Certification.
• Proficiency, or accreditation (Preferred).
