EPC Project Assistant

AdministrativeFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes "Who We Are", "THE OPPORTUNITY", "POSITION DETAILS", "What You Will Do", "Competencies Required For Success", "Qualifications", "WHY ZAP". We need to map to headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Use

for each section heading. Only include sections that have real specific content. We need to decide which sections map. - About the role: could be "Who We Are" and "THE OPPORTUNITY". Probably combine into About the role. - Responsibilities: "What You Will Do" sections (Weld Map Data Entry, Job Preparation & Piping Test Packages, Quantity Takeoffs, Documentation & Project Support). Use
  • . - Requirements: maybe "Qualifications" (Required) and "Competencies Required For Success" could be Skills? Actually competencies are skills. So we can have Skills section for competencies. Qualifications section for required/preferred qualifications. - Benefits, Pay, Schedule: Not provided explicitly except schedule: "This is an office-based position in Lakewood, Colorado working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM". That's schedule info. So we can include Schedule section with that detail. Benefits not mentioned, Pay not mentioned, so omit those. - Also location info could be in About the role or maybe a short p. We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID. We must preserve all substantive information. Need to include details from Who We Are, THE OPPORTUNITY, POSITION DETAILS (Reports To, Direct Reports, FLSA Status, Location, Travel, Department), What You Will Do (detailed bullet points), Competencies, Qualifications (Required and Preferred), WHY ZAP. We need to format as HTML with

    headings and

    for prose,

    • for lists. We must not include boilerplate like EEO etc. Not present. Let's craft. Structure:

      About the role

Who we are: ZAP is a full-service engineering, design, and construction management firm servicing the oil & gas, heavy industrial, mining, and manufacturing sectors. From our Lakewood, Colorado office, we execute projects across North America, spanning from California to Florida and Canada down to Mexico. Our projects range in size from simple engineering studies or maintenance repairs to full-scale design of extensive facilities. ZAP operates at a fast pace while providing a team-centric approach to our work.

The opportunity: The EPC Project Assistant’s primary focus is weld map data entry in WeldTrace. You annotate the weld maps as the field completes work, enter welding and NDT (RT, UT, PT, MT) results against each weld, and enter material test report (MTR) and heat number data onto the weld maps so every weld is fully traceable. The weld progress the project team, the client, and our billing run on comes out of the data you enter. From there the role extends into job preparation and piping test packages — building, editing, and checking the hydrostatic and pneumatic test books the field and the client sign off on — and into quantity takeoffs, where you take off concrete volumes, structural steel tonnage, pipe footage, and weld inch from the drawings and number the flanges that feed the torque log, to support estimates, budgets, and progress reporting. This is an office-based position in Lakewood, Colorado working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and a direct path into project controls, estimating, QA/QC role.

But schedule we might separate later. However schedule info is in that paragraph; we could still keep it there, but we also need a Schedule section. To avoid duplication, maybe we put schedule in its own section and not repeat in About the role. But we must preserve all info; we can mention schedule in Schedule section and not repeat elsewhere. However the About the role paragraph currently includes schedule; we could remove that sentence and put schedule separately. Let's do that. Thus About the role: Who we are + The opportunity (excluding schedule). Then Schedule section: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Now Responsibilities: list of duties from What You Will Do. Could break into sub-sections? But we just need a Responsibilities section with ul li items covering all duties. Could group by categories but not required. We'll just list each bullet as li. We need to capture all details: Weld Map Data Entry (annotate weld maps, enter welding and NDT results, enter MTR and heat number data, input and annotate weld progress, maintain WeldTrace projects, verify each weld carries documentation, flag missing/conflicting records). Job Preparation & Piping Test Packages (prepare test books, edit/check test packages, compile records, track test package status, assist with job preparation). Quantity Takeoffs (perform quantity takeoffs, take off pipe footage, number flanges, roll takeoff quantities, track installed quantities, re-take off when drawings revised). Documentation & Project Support (file documentation, assist with project closeout, assist with various tasks). We'll create ul li for each major duty, maybe sub-bullets not needed but we can keep as separate li. Competencies: list of 10 competencies with description. We'll put in Skills section as ul li. Qualifications: Required and Preferred. We'll put in Qualifications section with two subheadings? But we only allowed h3 for section headings; we could have a single Qualifications section with p describing required and preferred, or we could have two sections? The instruction: use h3 for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can have Qualifications h3 and inside we can have p with required and preferred. Could also split into Required and Preferred as separate p. WHY ZAP: could be part of About the role or maybe a separate section like "Why join ZAP"? Not in list but we could incorporate into About the role or maybe a separate section like "About the company". Since we already have About the role covering who we are and the opportunity, we could add Why ZAP as another paragraph under About the role. Or we could create a separate section like "Why ZAP" but not in allowed headings; better to incorporate into About the role. Thus final sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Skills, Qualifications, Schedule. Check if we need Requirements? Not separate; we have Qualifications. Now produce HTML. Let's craft. Schedule:

      Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, office‑based in Lakewood, Colorado (minimal travel up to 10% for project site visits).

      Responsibilities:

      Responsibilities

      • Weld Map Data Entry – WeldTrace (primary focus): annotate weld maps as field work completes (weld numbers, welder IDs, weld procedures, dates); enter welding and NDT results (RT, UT, PT, MT) with acceptance status and repair/re‑shoot history; enter material test report (MTR) and heat number data for full traceability; input and annotate weld progress to keep diameter‑inch complete figures current; maintain WeldTrace projects (drawing/line revisions, weld map updates, welder/procedure records); verify each weld has required documentation and flag missing/conflicting welding, NDT, or material records early.
      • Job Preparation & Piping Test Packages: assemble isometric and P&ID sets, mark test boundaries and blinds, state test pressure, medium, and hold time for hydrostatic/pneumatic test books; edit and check test packages prepared by others (verify boundaries, pressure/medium match line list/spec, ensure all welds inside are documented and accepted); compile weld, material, and NDT records backing each package and resolve gaps before issuance; track test package status from preparation through client review, execution, and sign‑off, rolling completed packages into turnover documentation; assist with job preparation by assembling drawing, weld map, and test package sets for crews.
      • Quantity Takeoffs: perform takeoffs from drawings for concrete volumes, structural steel tonnage, pipe footage, and weld inch by line, area, and drawing; take off pipe footage from isometrics and piping plans by line number, size, and spec and reconcile to line list; number flanges on isometrics and take off flange counts by size/rating to build/maintain flange torque log; roll takeoff quantities into clean, checkable summaries for estimating, project management, and controls; track installed quantities against takeoff for earned progress reporting; re‑take off quantities when drawings are revised and identify changes between revisions.
      • Documentation & Project Support: file welding, NDT, and material documentation (MTRs, COCs) to project network/file‑sharing sites and keep folders organized and consistently named; assist with project closeout by assembling weld and material turnover documentation and archiving project folders; perform various tasks as required to support EPC construction project execution.
      Skills:

      Skills

      • Detail Orientation – consistently checks and rechecks work product for accuracy; understands that a mis‑keyed weld or heat number creates traceability problems.
      • Data Entry Accuracy & Volume – enters hundreds of records per week without drifting; speed is good, correctness is required.
      • Systems Discipline (WeldTrace) – lives in WeldTrace, enters progress and NDT results as they come in rather than catching up at month‑end.
      • Drawing & Package Literacy – reads isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps, line lists, and structural/civil drawings well enough to spot disagreements between paperwork and drawings.
      • Takeoff Accuracy – takes off concrete, steel, pipe footage, weld inch, and flange counts consistently, shows basis, and produces numbers others can check and trust.
      • Quality – demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, seeks improvements, applies feedback, monitors own work.
      • Checking & Follow‑Through – checks test packages as if standing next to them; chases missing NDT reports or MTRs until received.
      • Dependability – follows instructions, takes responsibility, meets commitments, raises alternate plans when needed.
      • Organized Self‑Direction – manages multiple projects/deadlines, owns deliverables and timelines without daily direction.
      • Ownership Mentality – treats weld maps and quantity basis as own; spots missing
