About the role
This position involves performing tests and sampling of air and building materials for asbestos, lead, and other compounds. Monitoring for parameters like temperature, carbon dioxide, noise, and personnel exposure is also part of the responsibilities.Responsibilities
- Operates field monitoring equipment.
- Performs asbestos inspections and oversight for asbestos abatement projects.
- Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
- Cleans and maintains field monitoring equipment.
- Adhere to strict safety standards.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification
- A license for asbestos or lead in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Federal EPA (lead).
- Other national, regional, state, and local environmental related certifications may be considered based on the Terracon Department Manager's discretion.
