About the role

The Environmental Services Tech at Virginia Mason Medical Center is responsible for completing daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas. Duties include using appropriate disinfection methods, adhering to safety and infection control guidelines, and managing supplies and waste disposal.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas
• Perform intermediate level disinfection as required
• Operate and maintain power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment, and push sweepers
• Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and safety guidelines
• Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
• Manage supplies and waste disposal according to established protocols
• Collaborate with the team to resolve facility tasks and issues

Requirements

• Ability to explain disinfection levels and perform intermediate disinfection
• Knowledge and skills in operating various cleaning and disinfecting equipment
• Effectively uses computers and mobile devices
• Respects and listens to others' viewpoints and ideas
• Communicates openly and collaboratively with team members
• Works independently without close supervision

Preferred

• High School diploma or GED
• Previous healthcare experience
