Environmental Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Develop TIS and review these safety documents with the crew routinely.
• Evaluate safety hazards on the job and determine and enforce the necessary precautions, procedures, and PPE.
• Inspect equipment and small tools to ensure they are in proper working condition, and red tag and remove from service any items that are damaged, broken, or malfunctioning.
• Provide direction, equipment, small tools, materials, and supplies to support the crew.
• Act as a customer or client liaison.
• Prepare and submit job reports as directed by the site manager, director, or customer.
• Make recommendations on equipment purchases, personnel needs, equipment maintenance, and other related matters.
• Operate mobile equipment, such as fork trucks and pallet jacks.
• Wear appropriate safety gear, including a respirator, while handling hazardous waste.
• Load semi-trailers, tanks, and roll-off boxes for shipment to the disposal facility.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the Hazardous Accumulation Area.
• Respond to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
• Auxiliary tasks include assisting the Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick-up, and waste organization.
• Inspect waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
• Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
• Operate burden carriers.
• Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in waste management.
• Position requires wearing a respirator and additional PPE.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
