Responsibilities
- Perform highly skilled housekeeping, maintenance and handyman tasks to care for and maintain the facility and grounds.
- Use knowledge of housekeeping processes, power and manual cleaning tools to perform tasks in categories such as general janitorial, cleaning, bio-hazard cleanups and minor facilities repairs.
- Perform routine, rotational maintenance to ensure equipment and facility operations run smoothly.
- Troubleshoot any cleaning equipment issues including electrical, mechanical, and process issues independently; identifying and resolving root causes.
- Provide occasional assistance in facility maintenance tasks as needed.
- Respond to repair and maintenance tickets submitted by internal departments in a timely manner.
- Cook with external vendors and contractors for outsourced repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Oversee floor care vendor performance.
- Inventory & Supply Management: Order housekeeping and EVS supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report on supply status.
- Receive, organize, and distribute supplies throughout the facility.
- Report Environment of Care concerns through the ticketing system to support Safety Committee documentation and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to facility standards related to safety, maintenance, and operational readiness.
- Maintain overall facility cleanliness, including floor care, general cleaning, restroom upkeep, and window cleaning.
- Restock supplies and perform additional cleaning duties as needed to support a safe and functional environment.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2 years experience in housekeeping/janitorial cleaning.
- Working knowledge of: Cleaning best practices and floor care.
Qualifications
- Previous healthcare facility experience is preferred but not required.
- 1 year of experience performing tasks requiring mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the maintenance.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in the use of mechanical equipment and chemicals.
Skills
