About the role

This position performs highly skilled housekeeping, maintenance and handyman tasks to care for and maintain the facility and grounds. The Environmental Services & Facilities Technician uses their knowledge of housekeeping processes, power and manual cleaning tools needed to perform tasks in categories such as general janitorial, cleaning, bio-hazard cleanups and minor facilities repairs to ensure the buildings are in pristine condition.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, rotational maintenance to ensure equipment and facility operations run smoothly
  • Troubleshoot any cleaning equipment issues including electrical, mechanical, and process issues independently; identifying and resolving root causes
  • Provide occasional assistance in facility maintenance tasks as needed
  • Respond to repair and maintenance tickets submitted by internal departments in a timely manner
  • Cook with external vendors and contractors for outsourced repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Oversee floor care vendor performance
  • Inventory & Supply Management: Order housekeeping and EVS supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report on supply status
  • Receive, organize, and distribute supplies throughout the facility
  • Compliance & Environment of Care: Report Environment of Care concerns through the ticketing system to support Safety Committee documentation and compliance Ensure adherence to facility standards related to safety, maintenance, and operational readiness
  • Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep: Maintain overall facility cleanliness, including floor care, general cleaning, restroom upkeep, and window cleaning
  • Restock supplies and perform additional cleaning duties as needed to support a safe and functional environment

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years experience in housekeeping/janitorial cleaning
  • Working knowledge of: Cleaning best practices and floor care

Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare facility experience is preferred
  • 1 year of experience performing tasks requiring mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the maintenance
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in the use of mechanical equipment and chemicals

Skills
