Environmental Services & Facilities Technician (FT, Back End Days)
About the role
This position performs highly skilled housekeeping, maintenance and handyman tasks to care for and maintain the facility and grounds. The Environmental Services & Facilities Technician uses their knowledge of housekeeping processes, power and manual cleaning tools needed to perform tasks in categories such as general janitorial, cleaning, bio-hazard cleanups and minor facilities repairs to ensure the buildings are in pristine condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, rotational maintenance to ensure equipment and facility operations run smoothly
- Troubleshoot any cleaning equipment issues including electrical, mechanical, and process issues independently; identifying and resolving root causes
- Provide occasional assistance in facility maintenance tasks as needed
- Respond to repair and maintenance tickets submitted by internal departments in a timely manner
- Cook with external vendors and contractors for outsourced repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Oversee floor care vendor performance
- Inventory & Supply Management: Order housekeeping and EVS supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report on supply status
- Receive, organize, and distribute supplies throughout the facility
- Report Environment of Care concerns through the ticketing system to support Safety Committee documentation and compliance
- Ensure adherence to facility standards related to safety, maintenance, and operational readiness
- Maintain overall facility cleanliness, including floor care, general cleaning, restroom upkeep, and window cleaning
- Restock supplies and perform additional cleaning duties as needed to support a safe and functional environment
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years experience in housekeeping/janitorial cleaning
- Working knowledge of: Cleaning best practices and floor care
Qualifications
- Previous healthcare facility experience is preferred
- 1 year of experience performing tasks requiring mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the maintenance
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in the use of mechanical equipment and chemicals
Skills
