Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 2

Join Sodexo as an Environmental Services / Custodial Manager at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA. This overnight leadership role oversees EVS operations during the 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM shift.

About the Role

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee frontline environmental services teams to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. You’ll play a key part in scheduling, training, and supporting daily operations, helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all. Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, including performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and depend on your ability to influence and negotiate within the organization. Progression reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities. Responsible for business, functional, or operational areas, processes, or programs, which may include dotted-line or matrixed management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee frontline environmental services teams to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
• Lead scheduling, training, and daily operational support for EVS staff.
• Manage performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hiring/firing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in facilities operations.
• Utilize technical proficiency in custodial tools, processes, and systems to support operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet operational goals and deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading or supervising environmental services or custodial teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Deep understanding of safety protocols and regulatory standards within facilities operations.
• Strong multitasking skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and operational goals.
• Clear and confident communication skills with a sharp eye for detail.
• Technical proficiency in custodial tools, processes, and systems.
• Experience with floor care and OR terminal cleaning.
• Spanish-speaking abilities are beneficial for team leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or associate’s degree, or equivalent experience.

Pay

Pay range: $61,710 – $79,860 per year. Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience. Salary offers are based on specific criteria such as experience, skills, education, and training.
