About the role
The Environmental Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Specialist supports and continuously improves environmental, health, safety, and security programs at our Dayton, NJ facility. The role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, supports environmental and security initiatives, and partners with site leadership to maintain a safe and secure workplace.
Responsibilities
- Support EHSS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain environmental compliance programs, including EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, permits, reporting, and inspections.
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, environmental metrics, and reporting activities.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and safety audits.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training, including OSHA topics, PPE, ergonomics, emergency response, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support ergonomic assessments and workplace injury prevention initiatives.
- Manage safety equipment, emergency supplies, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Assist with site security activities, including access control, visitor management, CCTV monitoring, and C-TPAT compliance.
- Maintain EHSS policies, SOPs, emergency action plans, and training records.
- Participate in audits, inspections, safety committees, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHSS best practices into daily operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS, environmental compliance, occupational safety, or a related role.
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or industrial environments strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910), EPA requirements, and environmental compliance programs.
- Experience conducting inspections, incident investigations, and employee safety training.
- Knowledge of physical security programs and/or C-TPAT compliance is a plus.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); EHS software experience preferred.
