About the role
As a Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by performing essential functions related to health, safety, environmental, and security programs and issues. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, counsel, and technical assistance to the site to achieve HSES goals.
- Prepares updates to site safety policies and programs.
- Manage the site’s hazardous waste program.
- Develop and conduct safety training as needed.
- Maintain recordkeeping as required by regulations and company policy.
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Performs duties related to site RC14001 Responsible Care Management System (RCMS).
- Affords assistance with corrective actions from internal/external audits, inspections, and visits.
- Lead/participate in safety incident (i.e., near miss, injury, etc.) investigations and root cause analyses.
- Work with site personnel to improve process safety elements (e.g., management of change).
- Conduct/assist with hazard assessment activities (i.e., issuing permits, process safety reviews, etc.).
- Manage site environmental programs (e.g., RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP, etc.).
- Prepare regulatory permits and reports.
- Support site industrial hygiene programs.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an HSES related field, science, or engineering. Extensive years (5 years) of experience in a HSES related role my be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1+ years of health, safety and/or environmental experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in a chemical plant or heavy industry plant preferred.
Qualifications
- Extensive years (5 years) of experience in a HSES related role my be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1+ years of health, safety and/or environmental experience.
