Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations (federal, state, local) and company standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and EHS training to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage hazardous waste programs and spill response, including vendor oversight and regulatory reporting.
- Investigate workplace and environmental compliance issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Support emergency preparedness and hazard communication programs, ensuring readiness for incidents.
- Review projects and facility changes for EHS and OSHA compliance, including environmental impact assessments.
- Maintain required certifications, permits, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) systems, ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Provide technical EHS guidance to staff and contractors, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and technical issues.
- Experience in healthcare and regulatory bodies (Joint Commission, EPA) preferred.
- Preferred knowledge & experience with hazardous waste rules and regulations, DOT and RCRA
- Knowledge of environmental permitting and regulations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in environmental science/science discipline, industrial hygiene, chemistry, or related field is required.
- Certification: DOT and RCRA education requirements must be met within 6 months of hire
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license required.
