Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps maintain site safety programs in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain and organize safety documentation (training records, inspections, permits).
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses.
  • Schedule safety training and track employee completions.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain inspection logs and safety checklists.
  • Prepare basic safety reports, logs, and dashboards for leadership.
  • Track corrective actions and follow-up deadlines.
  • Support safety meetings (agenda prep, minutes, attendance tracking).
  • Order safety supplies (PPE, signage, binders, labels).
  • Serve as point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspections.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A high school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • One to two years of manufacturing or chemical industry safety experience.
  • PREFERRED: DOT and Hazmat experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical hazards and regulatory reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
