Environmental Field Response Coordinator (Hybrid Schedule)

Hybrid schedules may be available, requiring at least three days in the office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays), with flexibility for the third day based on department needs. Employees must be able to work up to five days in the office as needed for emergencies, training, or policy changes.

About the role

You will support and manage environmental issues associated with electric operations primarily in New Hampshire. Responsibilities include emergency response and management of Oil and Hazardous Material (OHM) releases, planned cleanups, regulated waste stream oversight, substation SPCC Plan accuracy, Tier II filings, training, and policy development for environmental matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental oversight for assigned service area.
• Direct and support OHM spill containment and cleanup.
• Provide on-call availability for storm and after-hours emergency OHM spill response in assigned service area.
• Coordinate the management and disposal of hazardous and regulated materials generated in assigned region.
• Provide guidance and support on the management and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM).
• Develop and maintain substation Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for assigned region.
• Represent Eversource with customers and regulatory authorities to enhance and improve relationships.
• Prepare substation annual LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Commission) and SARA (Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act) Tier 2 reports (Community Right to Know).
• Participate in substation internal environmental assessments/audits and inspections.
• Assist/support internal business area owners to improve environmental processes and in audit follow-up actions and responses.
• Assist in site assessment and remediation activities at Company locations regulated by state and/or federal rules as hazardous waste sites.
• Assist in property sale and acquisition environmental ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) / AAI (All Appropriate Inquiry) due diligence activities.
• Drive proactive PCB removal program for assigned area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of related experience.
• Valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

Skills

• Knowledge of spill containment and cleanup, emergency spill response, PCB waste testing and disposal, hazardous and regulated materials management (including asbestos), SPCC plan development, water/wastewater discharge permits, and LEPC & SARA report preparation.
• Experience with internal environmental assessments/audits, inspections, corrective actions, PCB transformer reduction, spoils reuse/disposal, PILC, metals reclamation, waste minimization, transformer recycling, cost recovery, and major storm response.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external audiences.
• Ability to build trusting relationships, manage and develop people, foster teamwork, lead change, communicate strategic vision, and focus on customer needs.

Pay

Annual salary range: $95,050.00–$105,610.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.
