Environmental Designer/EIT
About the role
We are seeking an Environmental Engineer Intern (EIT) to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable waste management solutions and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Engineers in environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects that have clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Manage administrative duties associated with project management for environmental remediation projects
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Aid senior engineers in environmental remediation projects involving feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, remedial design, remedial action and post construction activities
- Interpret data and summarize it in tables, charts, and/or maps
- Perform field work and travel as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training is strongly preferred
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering or closely related Engineering field
- EIT or the ability to obtain
- Candidates hired without their EIT will be titled “Environmental Designer” and will be expected to obtain their EIT license for career progression
- 10-hour OSHA training is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and GIS experience
- Professional experience with engineering internships is preferred
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding sampling tasks in adverse environmental conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures)
