Water Resources Designer / EIT
About the role
We'll count on you to work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities. You'll focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations. Projects include flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and non-point source loading and point source design. You'll produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies. You may also perform other duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities
- Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
- Projects include flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and non-point source loading and point source design
- Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Preference for local candidates
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- Local candidates preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of tasks

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
