What it takes

  • Prefers Bachelor or Associate degree with emphasis in environmental studies, natural sciences, engineering, or related field. Advanced training or education in Environmental or Technical Field, with equivalent years may be acceptable.
  • 2+ years of environmental compliance or related construction experience.
  • Knowledgeable with environmental construction compliance topics and applicable regulations, including but not limited to storm water best management, process water control, waste storage and disposal, general air compliance, and fuel storage.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Previous experience advising utility construction teams on environmental compliance issues, negotiating company best interests with customers.
  • Ability to negotiate compliance issues and act as a liaison of company project management for regulatory visits or issues.
  • Travel 30% to 60% from West Virginia office.
  • Experience in linear construction projects (desired)
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience (desired)
  • A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.
