About the role
The Facility Environmental Coordinator assists with the environmental compliance program at the plywood plant and co-located lumber facility in Camden, TX. Reporting to the Complex Environmental Manager, this position involves assisting with day-to-day environmental compliance requirements, training personnel, and participating in strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the collection, preparation, and reporting of environmental records
- Direct and monitor work performed by consultants and conduct inspections
- Collect and analyze samples as needed
- Train personnel on Georgia-Pacific’s (GP) environmental 7-element risk management system
- Communicate and demonstrate how actions align with GP’s environmental vision and create long-term value
- Participate in the plant’s strategic planning and project review process
- Track metrics and support continuous improvement of the facility’s environmental management system
- Proactively address problems and collaborate with others to execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental Science
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Working knowledge of Texas and federal environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Experience performing air and water field work
- Prior or current experience working at Georgia-Pacific or Koch companies, including familiarity with systems, processes, and culture
