Environmental Compliance Coordinator

About the role

Supports the Compliance team by answering questions and furnishing information based on company policies and procedures. Compiles and communicates environmental work to the appropriate teams and contractors/vendors. Applies basic judgment to prioritize workload and resolve routine issues independently.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail promptly.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, data privacy standards, and employment law.
  • Assess type and urgency for escalations and route to appropriate team members.
  • Maintain environmental databases and systems through data collection, scanning, data entry, and reporting.
  • Coordinate ESS invoice processing and payments; work with internal programs and financial platforms to address billing concerns or statement discrepancies.
  • Provide project assistance and support for special initiatives.
  • Assist in monitoring, tracking, and processing of regulations, inspections, testing, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with supervisory personnel, co-workers, government representatives, and other internal and external business professionals.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; Associates degree preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience or more preferred.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook, external databases, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, listen, understand, focus on, and communicate information and ideas clearly and understandably, both orally and in writing.
  • Comfortable asking questions and seeking direction and answers as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of keyboard/computer.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and lifting/moving up to 35 pounds.
  • Work is subject to tight deadlines and interruptions can be stressful.
  • Occasional exposure to fuel/fuel vapors if required to attend site-level inspections or training.
  • Remote work by approval only.

Work Environment

  • Normal office environment with moderate noise and mixed natural/fluorescent lighting.
  • Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
  • Occasional travel to store locations as necessary.
