A Brief Summary Of This Position

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Environment & Sustainability Compliance Program Manager to lead and implement compliance-focused environmental and sustainability programs across the North and South Americas region.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as an internal consultant and subject matter expert, providing technical expertise and guidance to site EHS teams, regional EHS leadership, commercial partners, and business leaders to support environmental compliance and sustainability alignment.
  • Leads efforts to strengthen the environmental acumen of Valmont EHS professionals, aligning knowledge levels with health and safety competencies.
  • Develops a sustainable learning system to support long-term capability building and mitigate the impact of EHS personnel turnover.
  • Maintains a centralized system for tracking environmental and sustainability projects, enabling accurate disclosures for the Annual Sustainability Report, CDP, S&P CSA, and other frameworks.
  • Supports the development, promotion, and recognition of Valmont’s Annual Sustainability Award, including nomination review and selection process.

Required Qualifications Of Every Candidate

  • BS degree with 5+ years of relevant technical experience or AS degree with 7+ years of relevant technical experience or 9+ years relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to manage a regional environmental and sustainability program in a global business.
  • Understanding of key environmental and sustainability issues and how they can be integrated into business to create measurable value.
  • Problem-solver who offers solutions to identified obstacles.
  • Unquestionable integrity, discretion, ethical and professional approach to business, commitment to clients and personal credibility.

Highly Qualified Candidate

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS or MBA) in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental and sustainability roles, ideally within a global organization.
  • Proven track record of leading global programs and influencing cross-functional teams.
