Entry Level Software Systems Engineer

Position Responsibilities

• Supports software development on Agile teams which are tasked with integrating/implementing solutions onto a platform
• Uses analytical problem-solving skills to assist in the resolution of complex problems
• Uses engineering skills to deliver improved weapon system capabilities to our customers
• Applies engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools
• Applies knowledge of engineering principles to conduct various analyses
• Gathers information to design, develop, analyze, and maintain software systems that meet industry, customer and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards
• PARTNERS WITH APPROPRIATE STAKEHOLDERS TO COMMUNICATE SYSTEM DEFINITION AND PARTICIPATES IN TRANSLATION OF SYSTEM-LEVEL REQUIREMENTS INTO SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS THAT MEET CUSTOMER, OPERATIONAL, AND PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND HAVE CLEAR TRACEABILITY TO DESIGN, CODE, AND TEST ARTIFACTS
• ASSISTS IN COMPLETION OF SOFTWARE SYSTEM-LEVEL ANALYSES TO IDENTIFY RISK, ISSUES, AND OPPORTUNITIES; SUPPORTS INTEGRATION AND DEPLOYMENT OF MITIGATION ACTIONS THROUGHOUT THE SOFTWARE LIFECYCLE
• PARTICIPATES IN CODE REVIEWS TO ENSURE ALIGNMENT TO REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)
• Bachelor's Degree
• This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. Candidates must be able to relocate if not already living in the local area.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the year
• Ability to troubleshoot, perform data analysis, and follow implementation instructions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 0 years of related work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience
• 8+ years of related, relevant experience
• Experience in handling documentation products for the use of developers and stakeholders, specifically regarding software requirements
• Experience working effectively in a team environment and communicating with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
• Experience with software design and development tools such as DOORS and logic diagrams
• Technical writing experience
