Entry-Level Power Generation Technician - Reno, NV

About the role

This role is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. It is a hands-on opportunity to start your career working with real equipment in the field, supporting major energy projects in Nevada (South Valley & Peru Ridge).

Responsibilities

• Support preventative maintenance on power generation equipment
• Absorb and assist with installation activities (including cable pulling and setup)
• Work alongside certified J420 (INNIO) technicians
• Follow safety procedures and support daily site operations
• Learn troubleshooting basics and assist with equipment inspections

Requirements

• High School/GED
• TMCC Student Or Recent Graduate In Electrical, Mechanical, Diesel, or related program
• Interested in hands-on, field-based work
• Willing to work on-site in Nevada (relocation or commute required)
• Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a team environment

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items
• Must have functional hand-eye coordination
• Must have adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment

Pay

$20.00 to $24.00 an hour

Schedule

Available to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
