About the role

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Develops tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.
  • Defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material using the established manufacturing process flow.
  • Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts, coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, and addresses producibility issues, production, and postproduction problems.
  • Demonstrates configuration control of the hardware within the manufacturing build plan.
  • Applies process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems, and Structures.

Requirements

  • One (1) or more years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred).
  • Engineering degree from an accredited university (preferred).
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering (preferred).
  • Aerospace knowledge (preferred).
  • Experience with Catia programs (preferred).

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $50,050 - $76,750

Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet these requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
