This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, with core products such as fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, focusing on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Develops tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.
• Defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material using the established manufacturing process flow.
• Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.
• Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, and resolves production & postproduction problems.
• Demonstrates configuration control of the hardware within the manufacturing build plan.
• Applies process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures.
• Modifies and creates datasets from engineering using Catia V5.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• This position is 100% onsite at the Wichita, KS location.
• Must be willing to work the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift (assigned permanently based on business needs).
• Must meet export control compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferably an engineering degree from an accredited university).
• Experience with manufacturing engineering.
• Aerospace knowledge.
• Experience with Catia (preferably V5).
• ERP experience (preferably SAP).
• Sheet Metal Mechanic, complex assemblies, and/or installation background.

Pay

Mid-Level (Level 3): $71,650 - $109,800, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
