Entry Level Harvest Cellar Worker - Lingua Franca Winery

About the Role

We are seeking an individual passionate about enology and hands-on winemaking to gain seasonal experience at a mid-size winery processing around 450 tons. This temporary, full-time role offers the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the harvest season, including vineyard sampling, fruit processing, fermentation management, barrel work, and sanitation. The position is dynamic, allowing training and work in areas of individual interest, with a strong emphasis on safety and skill development.

This is an on-site seasonal assignment starting mid-August (exact date to be communicated) through mid-November. Schedules are determined on an as-needed basis to align with grape processing and may include weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Maturity sampling
• Equipment and tank sanitation
• Fruit processing
• Ferment tracking and fermentation management
• Tank and barrel additions
• Juice and wine movements
• Tank and equipment cleaning and sanitation
• Barrel preparation, cleaning, filling, and/or emptying
• Other winemaking operations required to meet quality targets

Requirements

• Ability to work from mid-August through mid-November
• Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
• Interest in the winemaking process
• Ability to work well independently and in teams
• Must be able to stand and walk over rough or uneven terrain
• Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Flexibility with scheduling and willingness to work long hours during peak harvest

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous harvest experience
• Forklift experience
• Strong sense of commitment and self-starter attitude

Working Conditions

This role involves prolonged outdoor exposure in various weather conditions, loud noises, and working near moving mechanical parts or toxic chemicals.
