About the role

We are looking for an Entry Level Environmental Engineer for our location in Clearfield, UT. This position is onsite and will join a diverse team of engineers. The primary responsibilities will be to provide technical services to the US Air Force and other Department of Defense customers who use Peraton's product Air Program Information Management System (APIMS). APIMS is a management tool used to comply with all aspects of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Storage Tanks, and Refrigerant Management regulations at ~200 industrial facilities. Assistance is provided from our Clearfield, UT office, and on-site, with travel expected 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, administers and implements environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
  • Monitors pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts.
  • Conducts studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes.
  • Reviews and analyzes Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act environmental documentation issued by the federal EPA, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Determines impact on company operations and publishes compliance strategies and requirements.
  • Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact.
  • Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues.
  • Represents company in government and industry rule-making activities.
  • Establishes permit requirements and assists in EPA, state and local regulatory audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering
  • Experience with the Clean Water Act and/or Clean Air Act
  • Ability to travel up to 25% nationwide and internationally
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the Agency clearance

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Experience with APIMS
  • Experience with Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act compliance and system evaluation
  • Strong software skills as demonstrated through use and/or implementation of software tools and technology
  • Ability to travel alone to customer sites, coordinate and communicate requirements, take feedback, and provide solutions
  • Experience with programming using SQL

Pay

Target salary range: $51,000 - $82,000. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
