Job Summary

Langan is seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to join its collaborative team in Chicago, IL. This individual will spend a majority of the time in the field with occasional time in the office and will serve a key function in working on small-scale and large-scale environmental land development projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Aid in planning and executing field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data;
  • Maintain oversight of construction projects by conducting tests to ensure compliance with project specifications;
  • Identify and implement solutions to both routine and complex field and laboratory issues, and document results accurately;
  • Prepare logs and field forms (drilling logs, field investigation dailies, chain of custody logs), and learn data management and modeling tools;
  • Gain proficiency in engineering analyses and field equipment usage;
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering;
  • 0-2 years of work-related experience;
  • EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam preferred;
  • Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred;
  • Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and a desire to learn;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations.
