Entry Level - Dishwasher

About the role

The Kitchen Dishwasher/Kitchen Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to food safety standards. This position is essential for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in our cannabis kitchen.

Essential Job Duties

• Dishwashing and Sanitation: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards. Handle and store cleaned items properly to prevent contamination.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and maintain cleanliness in kitchen storage areas. Assist kitchen staff with organizing and storing clean dishes and equipment.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing techniques and personal hygiene practices. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen. Report any maintenance or safety concerns to kitchen management promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload. Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation, packaging, and storage.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a dishwasher or in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

Skills & Education/Experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate staff.

• Ability to develop and maintain budgets.
• Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of retail experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking throughout the facility.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
