Entry Level Contract Specialist
About the role
This position supports cradle to grave contracting requirements for the F-35 program. This includes the design, development, procurement, operation, and maintenance of F-35 aircraft, propulsion systems, and offboard systems to support the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, international partner nations, and multiple Foreign Military Sales customers. It may also include acquisition of knowledge-based services, information technology supplies and services, consulting support, and other requirements related to program office operations.
Responsibilities
- Formulating acquisition strategies, analyzing cost and pricing data, leading negotiations with contractors, drafting contract documentation, and performing contract administration
- Serving as a business advisor providing advice and guidance, ensuring all business aspects of the acquisition are considered, including risk and incentivization
- Reviewing requisition packages for adequacy and compliance with administrative, regulatory and procedural requirements and consistency with current market practices and conditions
- Determining appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performing follow-up
- Conducting training to improve acquisition practices, implementing new regulatory requirements, explaining policy changes, promulgating lessons learned and clarifying procedures
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- This position may be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments
- May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
- Must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
- Must meet the continuing acquisition education requirements per DoDI 5000.66 paragraph E2.2.8
- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employees are required to file an OGE form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be filed annually
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree, overall 2.95 GPA or higher
- Priority consideration may be given to those candidates with a cumulative GPA of a 3.45 or higher on all undergraduate work
