About the role

The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia, overseeing all major information and communications technology initiatives. OIT partners with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer and the Office of the Director of Finance on the OPAL ERP and DW/BI project, a major modernization effort replacing existing General Ledger and Procurement systems to improve transaction processing, reporting, and employee onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • During implementation: Gather and document ERP data and reporting requirements; prepare and test reporting configurations; create and deploy user procedures; write/update technical specifications; develop new and retrofit existing reports; meet delivery schedules; execute and document unit test cases; provide weekly task and status reports to development leads.
  • Post-implementation: Identify, resolve, and report ERP data and reporting issues; document enhancement requests; analyze and design new release reporting functionality; document business process revisions and training content; deploy process and system changes to end users; participate in regression testing; identify opportunities to optimize business reporting; contribute to break-fix and regression testing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information systems, computer engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience with ERP systems, third-party applications, and related report development and deployment.
  • Experience implementing ERP and/or DW/BI solutions is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Experience with Finance and Grants/Supply Chain (SCM) and Procurement business intelligence, data warehouse applications, and report generation packages.
  • Proficiency in query development and implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating user and project security documentation and procedures.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience documenting business processes, writing functional specifications, creating test scripts, and researching/testing issues.

Pay

Salary range: $80,000–$90,000; cannot exceed $90,000.

Schedule

This is a permanent exempt position that will transition to maintenance and support after the project concludes (in 3–4 years).
