About the Company
Blacksmith builds infrastructure to run CI workloads at scale. Our first product accelerates GitHub Actions by operating a global fleet of bare-metal machines, avoiding generic cloud VMs. Today, we orchestrate tens of millions of Firecracker VMs weekly for 5,000+ companies, achieving ~$50M ARR in 2.5 years with 5x revenue growth since early 2026. Our infrastructure spans thousands of bare-metal machines across multiple regions, scheduling 100k+ vCPUs concurrently and managing a petabyte-scale Ceph cluster.
Backed by $58.5M in funding from Google Ventures (GV) and Peak XV Capital, we’re building a small, exceptional team. Founders bring deep systems and scaling experience from Faire, Cockroach Labs, and other large distributed systems. Our GTM is led by Jon Boyer, former Head of Sales at Zapier. We’re expanding our CI infrastructure into a broader platform, including agent sandboxes and a background coding agent.
About You
- Have strong taste in what not to build, prioritizing simplicity and delight over enterprise bloat.
- Have shipped enterprise capabilities at a growth-stage infrastructure or developer-tools company, navigating SSO/RBAC/audit logs/security reviews.
- Have matured a post-PMF product, focusing on making the core product undeniable for large customers rather than greenfield exploration.
- Are technical enough to earn trust with infrastructure engineers and buyers, with deep knowledge of CI/CD, cloud networking, and compute platforms.
- Have sold to or worked closely with enterprise buyers (VP Eng, Head of Platform, CISO), understanding procurement cycles, security reviews, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Are AI-native in your workflow, using Claude/Cursor-style tools daily, comfortable with MCP/CLI tooling, and automate manual PM tasks.
- Always take a customer-first approach, acting as the voice of the customer internally.
