Enrollment Specialist - bilingual English/Spanish required

General Purpose
The Enrollment Specialist works under the supervision of the Program Enrollment Manager to perform registration and financial screening functions. The goal is to determine eligibility for medical coverage under various health care assistance programs. The role adheres to STRIDE’s mission and values of community, trust, value, and compassion.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Researches and verifies patient eligibility for different programs and insurance coverage
- Registers and interviews patients to obtain accurate and complete demographic and financial information
- Informs patients about the availability of governmental funded and discount programs
- Completes enrollment applications through electronic and manual systems
- Provides case management services for individuals and families on public insurance
- Completes redeterminations and SEP reporting
- Identifies and corrects enrollment discrepancies
- Maintains the protection and security of personal, confidential, and identifiable information
- Maintains knowledge and expertise in program eligibility, enrollment, and program specifications
- Interprets and communicates federal, state, and eligibility criteria, policies, and procedures
- Collaborates with the Patient Accounts team to ensure timely account adjustments
- Records and communicates the outcome of the screening to the patient
- Reviews and completes monthly pending and self-pay reports to close out any outstanding tickets in patient accounts
- Provides excellent customer service to patients and employees
- Contributes to the daily workflow with regular and punctual attendance
- Performs related or other assigned duties as required or directed
- Maintains an accuracy rate of 90% on each program audit
Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Attends meetings as required
- Evening and weekend hours are required
- May be required to work at other clinics within STRIDE’s service area
Education and Experience
- Required: High school diploma or GED
- Required: Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Required: Must have or obtain BLS/CPR within 60 days of hire
- Experience working in an office setting or clinical setting preferred
- Knowledge of the health and human services infrastructure, health insurance programs, and public coverage options preferred

- Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers, and external agency contacts
- Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work from procedure manuals
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population
- Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients
- Basic math skills required; a basic understanding of accounting helpful
- Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products
- Must be able to read and interpret documents
- Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Must possess the ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations
Material and Equipment Directly Used
- Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, electronic health record, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and the internet
Working Environment/Physical Activities
- Work is performed in an office environment within a clinical setting
- Duties will require travel throughout the organizations service area
- Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse, and keyboard
- Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations
- Communicates information to others
- Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making

Salary Range
A competitive hourly range of $20.00-$22.00, depending on experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
