Enrollment Counselor

About the role
The Enrollment Counselor generates enrollment for all College programs, conducts educational advising, participates in recruiting activities, and strives to meet enrollment projections. This role is responsible for recruiting in designated areas within an assigned territory and establishing relationships with high school guidance counselors and teachers. Some regional and overnight travel is required for recruitment purposes. The position also plans, coordinates, and executes the College’s recruiting and enrollment events, and assists with their promotion.
Responsibilities
- Recruit students from all designated territories for all academic programs.
- Travel as required to meet, coordinate, and recruit with schools in the assigned recruiting area.
- Attend fairs and open house events as required.
- Conduct individual and group career/admissions interviews.
- Develop, implement, and assist with various workshops, seminars, and open houses.
- Prepare and disseminate weekly progress reports.
- Serve as liaison between the College, potential students, high school counselors, and business/industry contacts.
- Identify new and/or changing markets.
- Provide feedback on educational and extracurricular needs of Lackawanna College students.
- Assist in attrition reduction activities such as Retention Intervention.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to high school seniors/underclassmen.
- Assist in developing and maintaining high school presentations focused on acquiring inquiries for campus programs.
- Answer assigned inquiry calls from prospective students; schedule campus appointments and follow up on inquiries.
- Make a specific number of outgoing calls per day as determined by the supervisor.
- Proactively converse with or interview prospective students to understand their needs and goals; advise accordingly and include parents/support committee as needed.
- Review Financial Aid Cost Calculation with prospective students prior to financial aid introduction.
- Introduce prospective students (and family when applicable) to the financial aid officer and assist to ensure FAFSA and financial aid are complete.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in recruiting, sales, or related fields preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient presentation skills.
- Ability to professionally represent the College in public settings.
- Ability to schedule flexible office hours and travel as required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Effective computer skills.
