Job Summary
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, Enrichment Instructors will provide high quality Enrichment classes, leading clubs focused on STEM and VAPA. They will work directly with an assigned class of approximately 15-20 students (K-12), delivering safe, fun, and dynamic experiences. Instructors are expected to act as positive adult role models, coaches, and mentors.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Create an engaging environment fostering a sense of belonging among students.
- Support students in making positive behavior choices and enforce disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Engage children and youth by following and implementing lesson plans.
- Act as a positive role model through appropriate attire, speech, and attitude.
- Ensure student safety by assisting in setup, breakdown, and ongoing maintenance of the school or community site.
- Participate in staff development activities.
- Maintain accurate paperwork including sign-in/sign-out sheets for each class session.
- Organize student materials as directed by the Site Program Manager.
- Communicate and collaborate with other after-school staff, classroom teachers, administrators, parents, and community members.
Qualifications and Education
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units are required, or equivalent through passing an Instructional Aide Test.
- Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriately in a public-school setting.
- Must be at least 22 years old.
- Must pass a Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting) and TB Test.
