ENRICHMENT INSTRUCTOR
About the role
The Enrichment Instructor will implement a variety of enrichment and educational classes after school, for middle school aged youth, as well as support curriculum development, implement out-of-school time best practices, and program evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Provides educational instruction in assigned subject/topic areas
- Designs new enrichment classes in alignment with OST best practices
- Works to align curriculum with state and school standards
- Prepares pre and post tests for students and administers on a class basis
- Evaluates and updates teaching materials as necessary
- Ensures upkeep and working condition of all computers and updates software
- Works with site staff on student recruitment and retention
- The ability to develop and deliver high quality lesson plans
- The ability to foster a culturally responsive environment and meet students’ needs equitably
- Supports day-to-day program operations as needed
- The ability to foster a physically and emotionally safe environment for all students, and effectively manage students in a classroom environment
Requirements
- Licensure and Certification: Must be able to be CPR certified
- Education Requirements: 1 Year related experience working in the youth development and/or education field
Qualifications
- Must pass a CBI (Colorado) and FBI (Federal) background check
- Flexible, self-motivated and dependable individual
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have knowledge of specific enrichment content area
- Able to work at multiple locations if assigned
- Ability to troubleshoot for: computer hardware and software and other digital devices
- Ability to problem solve and research solutions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education
