Job Duties

• Analyze survey data independently to generate precise, standard-compliant highway project plans.
• Formulate alignments, drainage, striping layouts, and super elevations using AASHTO, MUTCD, and DOTD manuals.
• Prepare detailed project specifications using the latest DOTD Standard Specifications.
• Supervise daily operations, delegate technical assignments, and review subordinate work for accuracy.
• Cookordination with survey crews, utilities, contractors, and public agencies to gather project data.
• Conduct performance evaluations, deliver technical training, and provide conflict resolution for subordinates.
• Participate in structured training and required continuing education.
• Support emergency/disaster response activities when needed.

Compensation

Annual Salary of $57,242.00 - $103,064.00. This position receives Premium Pay of an additional $1.00/hourly for every hour worked. Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy.

Appointment Type

This position is open only to current permanent classified DOTD employees and may be filled by detail to special duty.
