Engineering Technician Supervisor

Job Duties

  • Analyze survey data independently to generate precise, standard-compliant highway project plans.
  • Formulate alignments, drainage, striping layouts, and super elevations using AASHTO, MUTCD, and DOTD manuals.
  • Prepare detailed project specifications using the latest DOTD Standard Specifications.
  • Supervise daily operations, delegate technical assignments, and review subordinate work for accuracy.
  • Cookordination with survey crews, utilities, contractors, and public agencies to gather project data.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, deliver technical training, and provide conflict resolution for subordinates.
  • Participate in structured training and required continuing education.
  • Support emergency/disaster response activities when needed.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary of $57,242.00 - $103,064.00.
  • Premium Pay of an additional $1.00/hourly for every hour worked.

Schedule

Appointment Type: Promotional. This position is open only to current permanent classified DOTD employees and may be filled by detail to special duty.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus five years of sub-professional engineering experience.
  • Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance plus five years of sub-professional engineering experience.
  • Thirty semester hours in one of the following specialized fields: architecture, cartography, construction management, construction technology, drafting, engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, landscape architecture, math, or physics.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management or construction technology.
