About the role
The Engineering Technician Intern role is entry-level with limited experience. They will develop skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within multiple skilled areas, processes, and methods.
Responsibilities
- Apply basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
- Work within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or scientific methods, adhering to quality guidelines.
- Follow directions per the lead engineer as defined.
- Perform time and motion studies to capture and verify cycle times for individual process steps.
- Document cycle time - actual vs standard, track changes/variances, and communicate changes to the team.
- Red line prints, work instructions, routers, and bill of materials for changes.
- Proactively seek to support other team members and provide feedback and ideas for improvement.
- Reach out to team members for help when needed.
Requirements
- H.S. degree or vocational certificate.
- A.S. degree preferred - pre-engineering.
- Experience with time and motion studies or the ability to learn.
- Effectively use Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to operate in an environment without constant supervision.
- Strong math skills.
- Ability to use a stop watch, read time.
Skills
- Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.).
Benefits
HM is willing to adjust work hours to 4-6 hours per day when school resumes in the Fall.
Pay
Total Hours/week : 40.00 Hours : 7AM - 5:30PM Mon. - Thurs.
