Support the build, integration, debugging, and testing of robotic subsystems, production hardware, and test fixtures
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to bring prototypes to life, maintain hardware, and support field deployments
Affix assembly of actuators, structure, and fluid systems
Perform harness builds, rework, and routing for development and production systems
Troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies and support root-cause investigations
Afford hardware-in-the-loop test systems setup and maintenance
Support engineers during prototype bring-up including mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and basic plumbing
Maintain a clean, organized lab space and manage tools and spare inventory
Occasionally support field deployments and hardware upgrades at customer sites
Collaborate with Production Coordinator to meet build timelines and production goals
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on technician or manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and light fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and harness diagrams
- Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies including PCBAs, motors, actuators, and sensors
- Comfortable in a fast-paced R&D environment with evolving requirements
- Attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting mindset
- Comfort switching between mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and basic plumbing — you may help an engineer debug a PCB one day, then route a harness or integrate a subsystem the next
Preferred Skills
- Industrial crimping tools, D-sub and circular connectors
- Low-voltage electrical systems and safe troubleshooting practices
- Test setups involving pumps, valves, or pneumatics
- Basic Linux command line or Python scripting
- Supporting prototype bring-up or field deployments
