About the Role
Provide support to the Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations Division on both the east and west coast. This position is part of an established Marine Operations division that supports multiple systems on a variety of projects nationwide. Candidates can expect to be trained to participate in functions beyond normal operations and should anticipate traveling 40-50% of the year, from one to six weeks at a time.
Responsibilities
- Boat operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems
- Shipboard support, including launching and recovery of small boats
- Perform duties with minimal supervision
- Operate pickup trucks with trailers on the road and in enclosed or limited spaces
- Work varying hours, including night operations and pre-dawn departures to meet customer requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school training or professional certifications/licenses a plus)
- Minimum 2 years of general mechanical and boat operations experience (Tech II level)
- General knowledge of boat operations, mechanical, and electrical operating systems
- Valid state driver’s license (Commercial Driver License is a plus)
- Ability to obtain a passport
- Physically capable of transferring between vessels at sea
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
- Must pass a drug screening
Work Conditions
- Work environments vary: desk work (data submission, reports, work orders), shops (engine rebuild, metal, wood, paint booth, electrical/electronic, micro mini repair, target, trailer), administrative/support rooms, and warehouse spaces
- Operate small boats in local waters and offshore fleet operating areas
- Environmental conditions vary due to operational requirements
