About the role
The Engineering Technician-Electrician supports TOS II at Tunnel 9 in White Oak, Maryland, working as part of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, including motors, motor control centers, generators, transformers, controllers, power circuit breakers, control input/output devices, motor-operated valves, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and other electrical systems.
- Absess the overall condition of electrical equipment, diagnose electrical malfunctions, and determine the scope of necessary repairs.
- Utilize test equipment, such as high-voltage proximity detectors, meters (loaded/unloaded), and megohmmeters (meggers).
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and other technical specifications.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize safety by utilizing the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Safety Requirements (JSR), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before and during work.
Requirements
- Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 8 years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Master Electrician License.
- Formal NFPA 70E Certification.
- Experience with PLCs.
- Experience working with medium- or high-voltage systems.
Qualifications
- Current United States Citizenship is required.
