About the role

The Engineering Technician - Electrical (Laundry/Galley/Fire Suppression Navy Ship Systems) position requires a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, with a primary focus on electrical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and overseeing repairs of U.S. Navy ships' laundry and galley equipment, associated fire suppression systems, and ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently or leading a team of technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, or testing US Naval ship structural, mechanical systems.
  • Leading a team in performing Formal material condition assessments (TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of US Navy ship's systems.
  • Communicating troubleshooting issues or assessments with official reports.
  • Documented experience with MS Office, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure from Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship's Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR), and/or TASS-Info.

Requirements

  • Experience independently or leading a team of technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, or testing US Naval ship structural, mechanical systems.
  • Experience independently or leading a team performing Formal material condition assessments (TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of US Navy ship's systems.
  • Experience in communicating troubleshooting issues (if any) or assessments with official reports.
  • Documented experience with MS Office, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure from Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship's Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR), and/or TASS-Info.

Qualifications

  • Assessment and oversight of repairs of U.S. Navy ships’ laundry and galley equipment, associated fire suppression systems, and ventilation systems.
  • Interpreting naval engineering drawings and electrical diagrams.

Skills

  • Experience independently or leading a team of technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, or testing US Naval ship structural, mechanical systems.
  • Experience independently or leading a team performing Formal material condition assessments (TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of US Navy ship's systems.
  • Experience in communicating troubleshooting issues (if any) or assessments with official reports.
  • Documented experience with MS Office, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure from Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship's Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR), and/or TASS-Info.
