About the Role

You will package and assemble documents and materials for production to execute related technical work documents (TWDs) and release the work documents in a controlled manner based on the established project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Compile work packages consisting of Non-Nuclear TWDs, Nuclear TWDs, Quality Assurance records, Work Controls, materials, and documents derived from pertinent standards, instructions, and drawings.
• Utilize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to sort information available in the AIM or AIMXP database to establish task package content.
• Maintain routine contact with zone managers and first-line supervisors who will accomplish the work.
• Determine, initiate, generate, or obtain all Quality Assurance documentation necessary to complete the job and include these records in each package.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade requirement).
• Appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date is subject to specific provisions.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (e.g., helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes) continuously during the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and chemicals). Participation in medical surveillance programs is required.
• May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites. Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
• May require walking, bending, and climbing vertical ladders aboard ships.
• May require lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include:

• Analyzing, researching, and interpreting technical engineering references and publications (e.g., instructions, quality assurance records, work control authorizations, and technical manuals) to assemble and release job work control packages for ship or submarine maintenance and repair projects.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or a combination of both education and experience:

• Successful completion of two full years of graduate-level education directly related to the position.
• Successful completion of a master's degree directly related to the position.
• A combination of experience and graduate-level education that equates to one year of experience (the percentage of required education plus the percentage of required experience must equal 100%).
