About the role
Engineering Technicians are responsible for technical shop floor support. Responsibilities may include:
- Troubleshooting machining, programming, and tooling issues
- Collect data for cycle time analyses, capability study, process improvement projects, FAT/SAT
- Metrology support
- Tool design support
- CAD/CAM support
- Creation and updating of process documentation (Standard work, process parameter)
- Supporting New Product Introduction Activities
- S supporting New Capital Introduction Activities
- Other manufacturing engineering support as needed
Key Responsibilities
- First line support in addressing daily production issues related to process performance.
- Write and maintain CNC Programs
- Troubleshoot machine, program and tooling issues
- Support training and qualify new employees
- Support Operations in meeting facility KPIs in Safety, Quality, Deliveries and Cost
- Support Channel Manufacturing Engineers in process documentation
- Participate on problem solving and/or continuous improvement activities on various plant issues as assigned.
- Maintain 5S certification of work area and throughout the facility
- Performs data entry duties for a variety of manufacturing/quality systems.
- Support and recommends edits and updates of new and existing documents as assigned.
- Auditing operations to process standards
- Be able to lift and maneuver up to 35 lbs.
Leadership & Team Development
Goals and metrics for this position are based on assignments and projects decided upon between the employee and the supervisor.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Will be responsible for coordinating between shop floor Channel Managers and workers and the engineering team to ensure project completion.
Qualifications
- 5 years manufacturing experience or an Associate in Science with an emphasis in machining, tool design, mechatronic or engineering plus 2 years’ direct manufacturing experience or a Bachelors in an Engineering related study.
- Critical thinking / trouble shooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficient in MS Office Suite Software
- Working knowledge in Solid Works
- Working knowledge in JASP or Minitab
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software (MasterCAM or G zero)
- Flexible – willingness to work off-shifts and weekends to accomplish goals
- Positive attitude with the ability to support the Company’s goals and mission
- Must use excellent ethical business practices and good judgment in dealings
