About the role
This position involves preparing detailed Independent Government Estimates (IGE) for construction, maintenance, and repair of installation facilities. It also entails coordinating issues between various stakeholders and conducting administrative inspections.
Responsibilities
- Assist with conducting quality assurance field inspections for facility construction related services to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of the finished product or services.
- Gather construction facility information in a field environment to provide weekly status reports.
- Identify failed or failing facility components to submit work order requests.
- Conduct quality assurance through field inspections for facility construction related services to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of the finished product or services.
- Gather construction facility information in a field environment to conduct progress meetings with project stakeholders.
- Submit work request for failed or failing facility components via data base of record or established work order system.
- Prepare estimates, schedules, contract scope, and contractor progress reports to assure conformance with requesters needs and to assure compliance with Army regulations.
- Evaluate contractor performance for any deficiencies, to negotiate resolution, and direct appropriate corrective action.
- Review work of less experienced employees to assure compliance with facility construction regulations.
Requirements
- Eligible for a Secret security clearance or access.
- Successfully complete Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training within 6 months and maintain COR certification.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- A valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
Qualifications
- GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting with conducting quality assurance field inspections for facility construction related services to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of the finished product or services; gathering construction facility information in a field environment to provide weekly status reports; identifying failed or failing facility components to submit work order requests.
- GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting quality assurance through field inspections for facility construction related services to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of the finished product or services; gathering construction facility information in a field environment to provide weekly status reports; submitting work order requests for failed or failing facility components.
- GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting quality assurance through field inspections for facility construction related services to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of the finished product or services; gathering construction facility information in a field environment to conduct progress meetings with project stakeholders; submitting work request for failed or failing facility components via data base of record or established work order system.
